Zak Claxton is a Los Angeles-based songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist whose self-titled debut album is in the midst of being created, during spring and summer 2008, with an anticipated release date this fall.
Heavily influenced by great singer/songwriters like Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Pete Townshend, Elvis Costello, John Lennon, and many more, Zak Claxton's music ranges from ethereal musings to rootsy rock. Neither mired in the past nor ascribing toward any hipster-oriented irony, Zak creates a timeless sound that is both organic and thought-provoking. Much like the classic albums of his idols, Zak Claxton spans the realm from light acoustic songs to hard-rocking jams.
